This move is based on directives from regulatory and supervisory bodies, aimed at maintaining the stability of gas flow nationwide.
Gholamreza Koushki, head of the National Gas Control Center, stated that household, commercial, and small industrial gas consumption began the week at 566 million cubic meters per day on Saturday and increased to 600 million cubic meters by Sunday, reflecting a nearly 6% rise in just two days.
He added that with colder weather anticipated in the coming days, the daily gas consumption is expected to exceed 620 million cubic meters.
Despite gas production operating at maximum capacity, Koushki warned that increased consumption might lead to pressure drops in certain colder provinces.
He urged provincial gas companies to take proactive measures to maintain network stability, saying that these measures include issuing warnings to high-consumption users and disconnecting gas supply to vacant villas in colder northern regions to ensure sufficient gas for essential needs during the upcoming cold spell.
