According to the National System for Publishing and Free Access to Information, the Ministry of Petroleum has achieved the top rank among 35 ministries and national organizations by responding to 100% of requests and complaints from 2017 to August this year.

The National System for Publishing and Free Access to Information was established in 2017. The report states that from its launch until August this year, 2,708 requests were registered in the Ministry of Petroleum's system, with an average response time of six days, and all requests have been answered.

Following the Ministry of Petroleum, the Organization of Planning and Budget and the Vice Presidency for Science and Technology have secured the second and third positions, respectively.

According to the annual report of the Chairman of the Commission for Publishing and Free Access to Information to the President, the Ministry of Petroleum also ranked top among more than 2,000 entities across all indicators in 2022.

The Law on the Publication and Free Access to Information passed by the Islamic Consultative Assembly in 2008, obliges public and private bodies providing public services to respond and publish public information for citizens. Since 2017, with the approval of the executive regulations of the law, over 2,600 entities are required to respond to citizens’ requests through the national system.
