Oil Ministry recognized for transparency, public information access

SHANA (Tehran) – The Ministry of Oil and its affiliated companies were commended for fully implementing the law on the dissemination and free access to information, ensuring the public’s right to access information from government agencies, the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance said.

Abbas Salehi, minister of culture who heads the Commission for the Dissemination and Free Access to Information, praised Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad for the ministry’s efforts, emphasizing the importance of the free flow of information.

He said that fully enforcing the law on access to public information aligns with President Masoud Pezeshkian’s priorities of promoting justice, eliminating discrimination, improving efficiency, and enhancing accountability to gain public trust.

“Based on a review of the Oil Ministry and its affiliated companies’ performance over the past year, the headquarters and several subordinate organizations have achieved commendable results in responsiveness,” Salehi said. “I wish to express my appreciation for your supervision of strict compliance with the law and the valuable efforts of your colleagues in this regard.”

The recognition covers the Ministry of Oil headquarters and 59 affiliated companies.

The National System for Dissemination and Free Access to Information (iranfoia.ir) provides an electronic platform for the public to request information from all branches of government, as well as private organizations providing public services, in line with the law on access to information.
