Oil Industry Works Relentlessly to Feed Power Plants

SHANA (Tehran) - The oil industry workforce works round-the-clock to provide natural gas to power plants to prevent blackouts.

The dispatching division manager at NIGC Saeed Aghli, said that NIGC tries to provide the gas needs of power plants stably, adding that given the special weather conditions this year, the existence of 100 percent humidity plus high temperatures, especially in the southern parts of the country; natural gas make up more than 93 percent of power plants and electricity generators fuel needs.

about 306.5 million cubic meters of natural gas have been delivered to power plants during the past 24 hours, up by 7.5 mcm/d against the corresponding period last year, Aghli said.

He continued: Even though several government offices and centers in some cities of the country were closed recently or their working hours have been reduced, this did not include the operational staff of the oil industry, he said, adding “My colleagues in NIOC, gas processing plants, gas transfer network, and oil products refining and distribution sectors are working hard to ensure sustainable gas delivery to power plants while doing repairs to get ready for meeting gas needs in winter.”  

We do our best to provide fuel without any interruptions, preventing blackouts, he said.
