U.S Foreign Policy Towards Iran Disastrous

SHANA (Tehran): Ted Cruiz, the U.S senator for Texas says that foreign policy of the Biden administration has been the “worst foreign policy of the country in modern time” calling it a “disaster” due to failure to curb Iran’s oil exports and ineffectiveness of sanctions.

In a hot debate with the U.S secretary of state, Antony Blinken, he grilled the secretary to prove that Washington’s policy toward Iran has been nothing unless a failure.

He made a comparison between the figures related to Iran’s oil exports since the Biden administration took office in January 2021 and now and tried to convince the secretary of state that the U.S foreign policy in view of maintaining sanctions has been a complete failure.

He told the U.S secretary of state that while Iran’s oil exports stood at 300 thousand barrels per day four years ago, now it has reached about 2 million barrels per day, implying unsuccessful implementation of the sanctions imposed during former president Donald Trump.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the Republican senator asked Blinken to tell him about Iran’s growing number of fleet ships, what he called “ghost fleet ships” and while the secretary state announced that 50 ships have been blocked, Ted Cruiz continued that Iran’s number of ghost fleet ships have risen from 70 to more than 400 ships during the ruling of Biden administration, selling 80 billion dollars of crude oil (annually).

Meanwhile the U.S secretary of state announced that the U.S had applied about 600 sanctions against Iran, confessing that Iranian “are working hard to do what they want.”

According to Blinken, “Iranians are working hard to do what they can to get around the sanctions” and that is the reason behind Tehran's success to boost oil exports.
