Iran’s gasoline production capacity to rise 2 ml/d by next May

SHANA (Tehran) – The National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) managing director on Saturday said the country’s gasoline and diesel production capacities will increase 2 and 3.5 million liters per day (ml/d) by mid-May 2024, respectively.

Jalil Salari added the country’s current gasoline production capacity stands at 115 ml/d and will hit 117 ml/d by increasing some refineries’ feedstock.

To that end, he continued, “we need to make a small investment in three pipeline projects”, he mentioned.

Ali-Akbar Nejad-Ali, former CEO of the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC), had earlier expressed his satisfaction with domestic gasoline output and distribution.

He said refineries’ gasoline production jumped about 10 percent in early Iranian calendar year (starting March 21, 2023), witnessing a 16 percent growth in mid-August.
