The Leader made remarks in his meeting with Oman’s Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, describing Tehran-Muscat ties as “deep-rooted” and “good”.
Ayatollah Khamenei added that development of relations between Iran and Oman is of great significance, as the two countries share the very important Strait of Hormuz waterway.
Pointing to Iran-Oman negotiations, he said the talks should be followed up seriously to results in boosting bilateral relations.
The Leader warned of the danger posed by the Zionists’ presence in the region, adding all regional states should bear in mind that the policy of the Zionist regime and its supporters is to create division and undermine peace.
Regarding the Omani sultan’s satisfaction with the resumption of Iran-Saudi ties, Ayatollah Khamenei said the rapprochement is the outcome of the Raeisi administration’s good policies on development of ties with neighboring and regional countries.
Shifting to the sultan’s remarks on Egypt’s willingness to resume relations with the Islamic Republic, he said, “We welcome this position and have no problem in this regard.”
Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, for his part, said Oman seeks to strengthen relations with neighboring states, particularly the Islamic Republic of Iran.
He said Oman-Iran cooperation in different fields was discussed in Tehran, expressing hope that the continuation of bilateral talks will cement the two countries’ ties.
