Kermanshah Refinery Boosting Production Capacity to 40,000 b/d

TEHRAN (Shana) -- The oil refining capacity of Kermanshah Refinery will increase to 40,000 barrels per day from 25,000 b/d following implementation of a project to enhance production capacity of the plant.

According to ISNA, Farhad Kaviani, the CEO of Kermanshah Refinery, said that a project is being carried out in the plant to enhance its productivity and the quality of the items it processes dramatically.

He said the project for focused on such products as petrol, gasoil, kerosene to bring them to the Euro 5 standard; besides, the production of fuel oil will drop from 50% to 22% in the facility.

The project entails plans such as setting up a vacuum distillation unit, hydrogen purification, benzene removal from gasoline, light naphtha purification and isomerization, hydrogen production, amine supply, sour water purification, sulfur recycling and acid gas purification; all of them necessary to improve the quality of products.
