Acid Gas Concentration Project of Hasheminejad Nominated for National Environment Award

TEHRAN (Shana) -- The performance and environmental measures of Shahid Hasheminejad Gas Refinery are evaluated as effective and positive based on the continuous monitoring of Khorasan Razavi General Environment Department in Sarakhs border city.

According to National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), Dariush Golalizadeh, head of the National Center for Air and Climate Change of the Department of Environmental (DOE), said on the sidelines of his visit to the Shahid Hasheminejad Gas Refinery: "According to the investigations, very good steps have been taken in all aspects which have many advantages from an economic point of view and environmental standards have been met.”

He pointed to the definition, implementation and exploitation of various environmental projects in the operating area of Khangiran by Shahid Hasheminejad Gas Refining Company, and added: “Setting up an acid gas concentration unit, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, recycling and reducing water consumption, using wastewater in green space irrigation, the result of which is the reduction of raw water extraction from underground aquifers, are some of the main measures taken by the refinery in this area.”

The head of the National Air and Climate Change Center of DOE stated: “The construction and operation of a large acid gas concentration unit in this area have caused this project to be considered by experts as one of the environmentally friendly projects for the option of receiving the National Environment Award.”
