Members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) today (Wednesday, December 1) during the 182nd ordinary meeting of OPEC appointed H.E HE Bruno Jean-Richard Itoua as the Chairman of the OPEC conference and Alaa K. Alyasri from Iraq was elected by the OPEC Board of Governors as the Chairman of the board in 2022.

The basis for the election of chairmen and the board of directors is the letters of the alphabet, and before His Excellency Diamantino Pedro Azevedo, Minister of Mineral Resources and Petroleum, Republic of Angola, who chaired the periodic meetings of OPEC and Amir Hossein Zamaninia, the chairman of the OPEC Board of Governors.

The 182nd meeting of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) is being held via video conference in the presence of the Ministers of Oil and Energy of the organization.
