Maroon-Isfahan Pipeline Incident Fully Contained

TEHRAN (Shana) -- The CEO of the Iranian Oil Pipelines and Telecommunication Company (IOPTC) said the fire caused by the crude oil spill in the Maroon pipeline was completely contained and the damaged part of the pipeline was repaired, adding the pipeline would become operational soon.

In an interview with Shana, Qassem Arab Yarmohammadi said fortunately, the incident had no casualties, adding the situation is completely under control.

He said IOPTC operational, specialized and relief forces are present and will continue to work in the region until the end of cleansing, full safety and crisis management of the incident.

Around noon on Sunday (December 13) due to landslides and the breakage of the Maroon oil pipeline to Isfahan and the influx of crude oil into large valleys in the Sarkhon area, extensive operations to repair the rupture and contain the fire started from the very first moments of the incident.
