SHANA (Tehran)- Managing director of the Iranian Oil Pipelines and Telecommunications Company (IOPTC) Arsalan Rahimi, says the company has managed to carry 137 billion liters of crude oil and oil products through pipeline over the last Iranian calendar year, ended on March 10 2024.

Speaking to journalists IOPTC’s managing director said: this volume includes 71 billion liters of crude oil and 66 billion of oil products, up by 3.7 percent when compared with a year earlier.

He also said that over the last year, 3.8 billion liters of oil products have been delivered to the 19 power plants across the country, which is expected to rise this year.

Elsewhere in his remarks, he said the length of the country’s pipelines would increase by almost 1000 kilometers over the current Iranian calendar year, consequently the overall length of the pipelines will reach 15 thousand kilometers nationwide.

Transferring crude oil and oil products through pipelines has considerable advantages in comparison with using trucks and roads, he said, adding using pipelines has enabled the company to save 1 billion dollars annually and in addition to that prevented the environmental damages as well as human casualties in road traffics.
