Storage Efficiency of Sarajeh Reservoir Up

TEHRAN (Shana) -- Iran Gas Transmission Company (IGTC) has managed to boost the efficiency of Sarajeh gas storage facility in cooperation with local knowledge-based companies.

On Tuesday, October 20, 2020, a ceremony was held at the facility to launch a project to enhance the efficiency of turbines operating in the plant.

During a ceremony to launch the turbines, IGTC CEO Mehdi Jamshidi-Dana said the project made it possible for cooling the air entering turbines with air from gas injection compressors.

He added: "This project was initially implemented as a pilot in one of the turbines; The turbine was in service for about 200 days and had an increase in efficiency of 4 to 5 MW, which in addition to increasing the time period of overhauls, also boosted gas injection into the storage reservoir.”

The IGTC CEO stated that thanks to this project, the time of gas injection has been reduced, which means that if one billion cubic meters of gas were to be injected in 6 months, now it can be done in four months.
