Iran Eyes Unprecedented Boost in Petchem Output

TEHRAN (Shana) – Iranian Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh said the country was expecting the most unprecedented growth in petrochemical output by 25 million tons per year in the current Iranian calendar year which began on March 20.

Following a ceremony to officially launch a number of major energy and petrochemical projects on Thursday, Mr. Zangeneh told IRIB that Miandoab Petrochemical Plant is the first of the second leap projects in the petrochemical industry that was inaugurated.

He said 17 petrochemical projects were to be launched in the current calendar year which would add 25 million tons to the country’s annual production capacity.
