Fire in Abadan Refinery under Control

TEHRAN (Shana) -- A fire in a canal carrying waste from Iran’s Abadan oil refinery was brought under control is less than five minutes on Sunday.

The unit is now operational, said Abadan Oil Refining Company.

The unit caught fire at 10:30 a.m. which was immediately controlled by the refinery’s fire department.

The incident did not impact the refinery’s operation and left no casualties.

The reason behind the incident is under investigation.

The refinery is one of the largest oil refineries in Iran and operates with 628,000 b/d of oil refining capacity.
