President Lauds Petroleum Ministry for Acceptable Performance

TEHRAN, Dec. 06 (Shana) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has lauded the Iranian Ministry of Petroleum for its performance in oil industry.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran is now able to sell as much crude oil and to any country it deems appropriate," said the president in an address on the occasion of the Student Day at Tehran University.

He said, "In the past, we were not able to sell oil to any country that we wished to and we had troubles in that regard; also for the transfer of our money we had to pay 10 to 20% handling fees, but now the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) has solved this issue for us and we have no such troubles anymore and can easily sell our oil to the customers and receive our money."

"Now, we can freely sell oil to any country. All the countries from Latin America to Asia, Europe and Africa are happy with JCPOA because they can now enter into trade with us."

Even though most of the oil producing countries underwent deficits since 2014, Iran could store 20% of its oil revenue in the national development fun, said the president.
