Hamid Bovard made the remarks Thursday during the inauguration of the second central processing train at the South Azadegan field (CTEP), described as the country’s largest oil and gas processing facility. Speaking from Khuzestan province near the border, Bovard highlighted the project’s strategic location and said the area has become a symbol of development and progress in Iran’s oil industry.
He said the project goes beyond a single plant, calling it a major industrial complex built across about 70 hectares.
Bovard said oil production under the current administration has reached its highest level in seven years, though he said exact figures could not be disclosed. He added that daily gas production now exceeds 1 billion cubic meters.
Projects Advance With Domestic Capacity
Bovard said commitments made to the president to boost development and production are being fulfilled. He said four development projects have been brought online so far, with four additional major projects under review following directives from the oil minister and the president.
He said more than 85% of the equipment used in the new processing train is domestically manufactured, and about 80% of the workforce consists of local employees.
Bovard thanked provincial officials, the oil minister, the Petroleum Engineering and Development Company, Petropars and other engineers and specialists for their support, adding that directives issued by the president during weekly follow-up meetings were consistently implemented throughout the project.
