Contract Signed for Establishment of Iran’s Biggest Solar Power Plant in North Khorasan Prov.

TEHRAN, July 26 (Shana) – A contract has been signed for establishment of a solar power plant in North Khorasan Province through foreign financing.

Managing Director of Power Distribution Company in North Khorasan Province Ali-Reza Saboori said after months of efforts to remove impediment(s), if any, in way of investment, the contract was signed for establishment of the first solar power plant in the country to run with the capacity of generating 30 megawatts of power.

He said the power plant will be set up at direct investment of Switzerland and Italy. 

The executive operations will start in next three to four weeks, he added.

The official said the Swiss party will finance establishment of up to 300 megawatt power plant in Shirvan, Esfarayen, Bojnourd and Jajarm.

The project for establishment of 30 megawatt solar power plant in North Khorasan Province will cost 40 million euros or 1,200 billion rials.
