Iran, China in Talks for Development of North Azadegan, Yadavaran Fields

Tehran, July 17 (Shana) – Corporate Planning Director of National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), Abdolmohammad Delparish, said on Saturday that talks are going on with a Chinese party for completion of of phase II development projects at Azadegan Shomali and Yadavaran oilfields.

Delparish told Shana that there is still the possibility for cooperation with Chinese CNPC for second phase of the project for development of Azadegan Shomali field but final talks that will lead to agreement have not yet taken place.

He said talks are also underway with CINOPEC for second phase of the project for development of Yadavaran joint field. He added that the Chinese company had been involved in the first phase of development of the field.

As for the fields to be treated based on the new model of oil contract, Delparish said the NIOC oil contracts will not be restricted to that type of contract and other models like buy-back, EPC and EPCF will be on agenda.

In the oil tenders, development of both Green Fields and raising coefficient of recovery of the Brown Fields will be emphasized and given importance.
