Paknejad attends launch of BRICS Digital Energy Center in India

SHANA (Tehran) — Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad attended the official inauguration ceremony of the BRICS Digital Center of Excellence (DCoE) for Smart Grid and Energy Storage on Thursday, as part of his visit to India for the 11th Meeting of BRICS Energy Ministers.

Paknejad, accompanied by a delegation of Iranian energy officials, participated in the launch event, which was held alongside the ministerial gathering of BRICS energy leaders. The newly established center is designed to promote cooperation among BRICS member countries in the fields of smart grid technologies, energy storage systems and digital innovation in the energy sector.

The inauguration of the Digital Center of Excellence marks a key step in strengthening collaboration among BRICS nations on energy transition, grid modernization and the deployment of advanced technologies aimed at improving energy security and efficiency.
Paknejad arrived in India on Wednesday to take part in the 11th Meeting of BRICS Energy Ministers, where senior officials from member states are discussing ways to expand energy cooperation, enhance technological exchanges and support sustainable development across the bloc.
The BRICS energy meeting brings together ministers and policymakers from member countries to address common challenges in the global energy landscape and explore opportunities for deeper collaboration in conventional and emerging energy sectors.
