Fuel supply holds steady during wartime

SHANA (Tehran) – A member of Parliament praised the Oil Ministry’s performance during the Third Imposed War, saying fuel distribution remained uninterrupted despite the presence of more than 15 million travelers across the country, particularly in the northern provinces.

Ali Keshvari, a member of Parliament’s Article 90 Committee, said hostile efforts often focus on disrupting fuel supplies and creating long lines at service stations to fuel public dissatisfaction. However, he said fuel distribution during the conflict was managed with exceptional order and efficiency.

“From roadside stations to urban fuel outlets, fuel was supplied without disruption and with proper management,” Keshvari said.

He noted that more than 15 million travelers were present in northern Iran during the wartime period and credited Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad and ministry employees for ensuring adequate fuel supplies throughout the region.

Keshvari also stressed the importance of transparent public communication, saying authorities should clearly inform citizens about measures taken to secure fuel supplies and manage consumption.

The lawmaker highlighted the importance of fuel supply for the agricultural sector. He said farmers in the province remain active year-round and called for stronger coordination among the Oil Ministry, traffic police and customs authorities to improve fuel allocation and distribution for agricultural activities.

He further proposed granting greater authority to local officials over agricultural fuel distribution decisions, arguing that decentralized management would help meet the sector’s needs more quickly and effectively.
