Hamidreza Azizi-Farsani noted that energy saving has become a public demand that requires greater media attention. He argued that consistent, sustainable consumption habits are essential to reducing pressure on the national economy.
“Energy is a national asset, and we must manage it to ensure the country is immune to the need for energy imports and can achieve a sustainable level of self-sufficiency,” Azizi-Farsani said.
He emphasized that parliament has already incorporated numerous provisions for energy optimization into five-year development plans and annual budgets. According to the lawmaker, these goals can be largely realized if existing legal mandates are implemented diligently and without delay.
Azizi-Farsani added that reducing waste—particularly regarding gasoline, natural gas and diesel—is both a civic duty and a religious imperative. Every action taken to cut unnecessary consumption serves the country’s national interests and energy security, he said.
