According to the National Iranian Oil Company, Saman Ghodousi said Tuesday during a meeting with PR managers of the National Iranian Oil Company that centralized management and strict control of news flow during the difficult wartime period reflected the professional maturity and close coordination among news producers in the ministry and its subsidiaries.
He said the coordinated approach prevented hostile narratives from influencing public opinion.
Referring to a special message issued by Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad on World Telecommunication and Information Society Day, Ghodousi described it as a new chapter in the government’s approach to media affairs.
“The oil minister’s emphasis on a public relations transformation plan focused on future needs is not merely a recommendation, but an executive directive that must guide all our planning,” he said.
Ghodousi added that the oil industry needs public relations departments capable of responding to the technological and communication demands of future decades, moving beyond traditional tools and methods.
Comprehensive Charter to Promote Transparency
Highlighting the minister’s call for drafting a comprehensive public relations charter for the oil industry, Ghodousi said the document would serve as a roadmap for effective and transparent engagement with audiences.
He noted that the charter could redefine communication standards across the industry and invited PR managers and experts to contribute constructive proposals to strengthen the initiative.
The Oil Ministry spokesperson also stressed the need to overhaul project documentation practices, saying documentation should go beyond archiving a few photographs and news reports.
“We need a professional approach to industrial historiography,” he said.
Ghodousi described every major project in the oil industry as an epic narrative of Iran’s technical capabilities that should be preserved for future generations and public opinion through modern storytelling techniques, high-quality multimedia productions and research documentaries.
He added that the active participation of PR experts across the industry would be essential to the success of the charter and the broader documentation campaign.
