Oil, Energy ministries hold joint meeting on energy conservation strategies

SHANA (Tehran) – A joint meeting of public relations officials from Iran’s oil and power sectors was held to discuss ways to reduce energy consumption.

Public relations directors from the Oil and Energy ministries, along with heads of PR departments at affiliated companies and media managers, met to review strategies for lowering energy use in postwar conditions and during the upcoming hot season.

At the Saturday meeting, Saman Ghodousi, director general of public relations at the Oil Ministry, emphasized bilateral cooperation to develop solutions for energy conservation. He said that countries around the world are increasingly focused on optimizing energy consumption.

Recalling wartime conditions, he noted that many countries were forced to manage and reduce energy use due to fuel shortages. “Therefore, developing solutions to reduce energy consumption in postwar conditions appears essential,” he said.

Ghodousi added that with cooperation between the Oil and Energy ministries, as well as public participation, the country can get through the upcoming summer with minimal challenges.

Gholamhossein Moqimi, director general of public relations and information at the Energy Ministry, said both ministries are aligned in their approach to reducing energy consumption nationwide. He said that through coordination between the ministries and public cooperation in efficient energy management, postwar conditions can be managed and upcoming challenges addressed effectively.

Officials at the meeting stressed the importance of managing energy consumption, particularly in the aftermath of the recent imposed war and the damage to related infrastructure. They also highlighted the need for coordination in managing consumption in the coming months.

Developing solutions for energy management is seen as a key step in leveraging public trust and encouraging participation in reducing consumption. With public cooperation, officials expect improvements in maintaining stable energy distribution and supply during the hot season without major disruptions.
