Minister: Public should not worry about fuel supply

SHANA (Tehran) - The oil minister said there is no cause for concern over fuel supply, emphasizing that necessary measures have been taken to ensure stability.

Speaking after a joint meeting with parliamentary deputy speakers and heads of specialized committees, Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad said energy sector issues under wartime conditions were reviewed. He added that discussions focused on challenges in the oil industry and that further coordination would help resolve them.
“There is no concern regarding fuel supply,” Paknejad said. “The required measures have been implemented, and the public can be assured there will be no problems.”
Parliament-Government Cooperation
Hamidreza Haji-Babaei, deputy speaker of parliament, said the meeting aimed to provide reassurance to the public by reviewing actions taken in the oil sector. He described the situation as satisfactory.
He added that cooperation between parliament and the government in fuel and energy has been strong despite hostile actions, and reports have been encouraging. “People can be confident there will be no issues with fuel supply,” he said.
Oil Workers on the Front Lines
Mousa Ahmadi, head of parliament’s Energy Committee, thanked the oil minister and ministry employees, describing them as being on the “front lines” and working to support the public.
He said that during visits to Kharg Island and the South Pars Gas complex, he observed that the ministry has prepared multiple scenarios to address various crisis conditions.
Call to Avoid Waste
Ali Nikzad, another deputy speaker of parliament, said lawmakers are currently present in their constituencies and will resume parliamentary sessions after April 5.
He praised employees of the National Iranian Oil Company, NIGC and NPC for their “honorable resilience,” adding that despite attacks on infrastructure in violation of international law, production of oil, gas and related products continues as normal.
Nikzad also urged the public to avoid waste, noting that conservation aligns with religious teachings. “There is no concern about fuel supply,” he said.
