Fuel distribution steady in Tehran, Alborz

SHANA (Tehran) – The spokesman for the Gas Station Union emphasized the stability of fuel distribution, particularly in Tehran and Alborz provinces, noting that personal fuel card rations may temporarily vary at different times and on different days.

Reza Navaz described the fuel cap as a temporary measure and attributed part of the congestion at stations to vehicles arriving with nearly full tanks.

"People should be assured that fuel distribution continues and that measures have been put in place for different scenarios," he said.

Navaz stated that the fuel cap for personal cards and at stations has been adjusted. Based on consumption monitoring in Tehran, Alborz and other provinces, the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company has implemented certain restrictions on fueling limits. This is aimed at better managing distribution so that every vehicle can meet its basic needs when visiting a station and not run out of fuel.

Fuel supply continues

Navaz said the personal fuel card ration has been temporarily reduced from 30 liters to 20 liters. This may vary at different times and days, as the ration amount is decided based on gasoline consumption and distribution levels.

He stressed that residents of Tehran, Alborz and other provinces can be confident fuel distribution will continue, with contingency plans in place for various scenarios. He urged citizens to avoid unnecessary trips to fuel stations.

According to reports, about 30% of vehicles arriving for fuel have nearly full tanks and purchase less than 8 liters, Navaz said. This practice causes longer lines for those with genuine fuel needs, delaying their ability to refuel.
