
Moscow - Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov has appointed 12 new chiefs of the federal services and agencies. A source at the government information department told Itar-Tass on Saturday that most of the appointments had been made at the Ministry of Industry and Energy in which five department are going to be run by new bosses.
Sergei Oganesyan, the former vice-president of the Rosneft oil company, has been appointed the head the Federal Energy Agency. Oganesyan also worked for the Sakhalinneftegaz association before his new appointment.
Andrei Malyshev will head the Federal Nuclear Regulatory Service. He held a similar post in the previous government.
Alexander Rumyantsev has been appointed the head the Federal Agency for Atomic Energy while Anatoly Perminov has become the new head of the Federal Space Agency. Perminov used to command the Russian Space Troops prior to his new appointment.
Former vice-premier Boris Alyoshin will head the Federal Agency for Industry.
Fradkov made two new appointments at the Russian Ministry of Public Health and Social Development. Gennady Onishchenko, the former deputy health minister, will head the Federal Service for the protection of consumers rights and mans well-being, while Vyacheslav Fetisov will run the Federal Agency for Physical Culture, Sport and Tourism.
The Russian prime minister has appointed three new people to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade. They include Vladimir Sokolin, the new head of the Federal State Statistics Service who held a similar post in the previous government, Alexander Grigoryev, the head of the Federal Agency for State Reserves, and Valery Nazarov who will run the Federal Property Agency.
Igor Artemyev and Sergei Dankvert, the former first deputy minister of agriculture, will head the Federal Anti-Trust Service and the Federal Service for the Veterinary and Phytosanitary Control, respectively.
