Most Tehran Water Comes From Deep Wells

TEHRAN – More than 87 percent of Tehrans potable water comes from deep and semi-deep wells.

A report issued by the Public Relations Department of Tehran Water Affairs Department added that Tehran, with an area of 18,870 sq. km., is located on the fringes of the Salt Lake and there are about 40,000 deep and semi-deep as well as 700 aqueducts and about 2,500 springs in the province. More than 87 percent of Tehrans drinking water comes from wells, 11 percent from aqueducts and 11 percent from springs.
