In a Tuesday meeting to address obstacles within the industry, Deputy Oil Minister and CEO of the National Petrochemical Company, Hassan Abbaszadeh, emphasized the need to facilitate operations at petrochemical complexes.
Abbaszadeh stated that the ministry and the National Petrochemical Company are working to ease activities and resolve the industry's issues. A working group has been formed to identify and prioritize problems, and various models for feedstock pricing are under serious review, he added.
Highlighting support from the president, various government bodies and the oil minister, Abbaszadeh said specialized meetings are being held to address challenges with the goal of facilitating production, sales and exports.
"Efforts are being made to soon resolve some challenges in cooperation with the Central Bank, Iran Customs Administration and the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade to streamline operations in various areas," he said.
Abbaszadeh reiterated support for petrochemical holdings and companies, noting that the Oil Ministry and National Petrochemical Company back the industry as a leading and productive economic driver.
"Sustainable feedstock supply, attracting necessary investment and ensuring a reliable market for products are essential requirements for the industry's development," he stated.
The meeting was also attended by the director of coordination and evaluation at the president's office, the secretary-general of the Petrochemical Industry Employers Association, and representatives from the Oil Ministry's planning department, who presented their views on the industry's challenges. Decisions were made to follow up on proposed solutions.
