Gas grid remains stable during peak demand

SHANA (Tehran) - The stability of the country's gas grid during peak consumption periods is due to the efforts of oil and gas industry personnel.

A deputy speaker of Parliament said the national gas network has remained secure and stable despite sanctions and unprecedented demand, thanks to domestic capabilities and the expertise of oil and gas industry workers.
Mohammad Rashidi commended the oil industry's performance in maintaining grid stability during peak demand. He said that although sanctions have created problems for the oil industry, thanks to domestic capabilities and the expert, experienced and specialized personnel of the oil ministry – particularly at the National Iranian Gas Company – the gas grid has remained secure and stable despite unprecedented consumption.
Emphasizing the need to appreciate domestic human capital and capabilities, he stated that even under the toughest sanctions, the country has the capacity to preserve its energy independence and avoid reliance on foreigners.
The deputy speaker, referring to the activity of gas efficiency companies, noted that the legal framework for establishing such companies operating in the field of gas optimization was provided by parliament in Article 46 of the seventh development plan, and the National Iranian Gas Company has implemented it effectively.
Rashidi added that this year, based on that same law in the seventh development plan, 1% of oil revenues is to be allocated to the Energy Optimization and Strategic Management Organization so companies like gas efficiency firms can perform optimally. He also said efforts must be intensified in other ministries to bring the country's energy consumption to global standard levels.
