TEHRAN – Iran is ready to provide South Africa with its century-old experiences in oil production, exploration and recovery, the official in charge of Gas-to-Liquid (GTL) projects at the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) said Wednesday.
“Iran has opened its doors to South Africa to get technological savvy in upstream and downstream oil sectors from the Islamic Republic,” Kambiz Sadaqiani told PIN after meeting South African Minister of Mineral and Energy Affairs Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka.
“Iran can cooperate with South Africa in the upstream oil sectors like exploration, recovery, studies, drilling and manpower,” he said, adding: “We can also cooperate in downstream sectors including building refineries, reparation services and producing oil.”
Sadaqiani said: “Iran and South Africa can also cooperate in manufacture of catalysts at the refineries to avoid erosion in oil, gas and petrochemical sectors.”
