According to Petropars, CEO Hamidreza Saqafi said the central processing facility at South Azadegan was designed with four trains, each with a capacity of 80,000 barrels per day, to handle water, salt and sediment separation, control hydrogen sulfide levels and regulate vapor pressure. With the commissioning of the second train, the facility’s operational capacity has reached 160,000 barrels per day, and the remaining two trains are expected to be completed in the coming months.

Saqafi said that over the past 15 months, Petropars, in cooperation with the Ministry of Oil, the National Iranian Oil Co. and the Petroleum Engineering and Development Co., has carried out multiple projects, including drilling, completion and acidizing of 12 wells and the commissioning of wellhead facilities for 30 wells. These efforts have resulted in an increase of about 60,000 barrels per day in output.

He added that additional well-related operations are planned, with the installation of electric submersible pumps set to begin next week. As wells affected by production decline or shutdown gradually return to service, the field’s production capacity is expected to rise sustainably.

Saqafi said the achievements reflect close cooperation between the National Iranian Oil Co., the Petroleum Engineering and Development Company and Petropars as a key operational arm of the Oil Ministry, describing South Azadegan as a symbol of effective project management, protection of national resources and reliance on domestic expertise.
