Manila - Petron Corp. (PCOR.PH), the Philippines' largest oil refiner, said Monday it shut its gas oil hydrotreater during the weekend to repair a leak.

"The shutdown was prompted by a leak observed at the unit's hot separator vapor and cold separator liquid heat exchange," the listed oil company told the stock exchange. Petron said repairs are in progress and they should be completed by Tuesday. "Despite the incident, we do not anticipate any shortage in product supply," the company added. The gas oil hydrotreater is a unit of an oil refinery that removes sulfur and nitrogen from the components of crude oil by the catalytic addition of hydrogen. P.I.N// Dow Jones
