Majlis Ratification Helps Energy Consumption Management

TEHRAN – Member of Majlis Economic Commission noted that if parliament’s ratification for gasoline rationing is implemented correctly, it would help the government manage domestic energy consumption.

Elias Naderan told reporters on the sidelines of Majlis open session on today that the apart from its advantages regarding energy consumption management, the parliamentary ratifications can lead to collection of useful information on distribution of consumed fuel in the country as well as make and quality of automobiles.

The MP added that such issues as fuel quota of every car as well as price of surplus gasoline are less important features of the bill, saying, “The existing law is very useful and we must help the government remove its flaws and implement it in the shortest possible time.

Naderan noted that any substitute plan, which would lead to increase in prices or exclusion of smart cards will eliminate legal advantages of the existing plan.

Chairman of Article 44 Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly also stated that voting on the single urgency of the government’s bill on Article 44 of Constitution will be conducted tomorrow (Wednesday).

After ratification of the single urgency, the government’s bill will be compared to that of the Majlis and after being discussed at various parliamentary commissions, will be discussed on the Majlis floor,” he said.
