COP27; Climate and Energy
TEHRAN (Shana) -- Once in a year, delegates from almost 200 countries gather togetherseeking ways and means to keep climate change from spiraling out of control. This time, they met in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, for the 27th Conference of the Parties (COP) that was originally shaped up back in 1994 when members of the United Nations agreed to convene and officially address climate change with an unprecedented determination. COP gained momentum and moved into center stage during Paris Conference of the Parties when decision was made to move from words and declarations to accountability, costs and damages. This institutionalized COP and countries began to address the topic at national, regional and international levels.

Yadavaran Output Capacity Set to Grow
TEHRAN (Shana) -- Touraj Dehqani, CEO of Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC), has said the company plans to increase production from the Yadavaran oil field. He also told Iran Petroleum that Iran was in talks with China’s Sinopec for the second phase development of the Yadavaran field. He noted that in case the Chinese company shows no willingness to develop this field, PEDEC would drill 25 wells in order to add 50,000 b/d to the field’s output.

Iran Petroleum Ministry Focuses on Startups
TEHRAN (Shana) -- Iran’s Ministry of Petroleum has decided to provide special support to startups and knowledge-based oil companies. Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh has said that 17 ha of land in southern Tehran would be allotted to these companies. He said the Ministry of Petroleum had a detailed plan for startups, which would become operational in the second half of the current Iranian calendar year.

Changuleh Oil Field Up for Investment
TEHRAN (Shana) -- The Changuleh oil field, which is located in western Iran, is among fields envisaged by National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) for development. After the new model of oil contracts, known as the Iran Petroleum Contract (IPC), was unveiled, Changuleh was among oil fields introduced for foreign investment. NIOC plans to develop Changuleh in two phases.
