According to the Petroleum Engineering and Development Company, Abbas Gudarzi-Arjmand said about 90% of the setup for Tadbir Rig 304 has been completed, and documentation and equipment preparations for surface tests before spudding are underway.
He noted strong cooperation among the project contractors, adding that Mapna Drilling Company, a subcontractor, supplied the rig. Coordination between the Pasargad Exploration, Development and Production Company — the main contractor — and Mapna Drilling has been effective, and operations are progressing according to plan.
Gudarzi-Arjmand said Phase 2 of the field’s development has begun with outsourcing two drilling packages and completing six Fahliyan wells. Pezhvak Engineering and Services Co. and Mapna Drilling were awarded the contracts and have started work.
Regarding the Northwest Jofeir well, he said the well was drilled in 1977 to a depth of 4,453 meters in the Fahliyan formation but was converted to an Ilami well after tools became stuck at 4,175 meters and recovery efforts failed. To increase production capacity, reopening, sidetrack drilling and completion in the Gadvan formation are now underway.
He said drilling, completion and production testing for the well are expected to take about 100 days.
The project director emphasized that all stages of transporting, installing and preparing Tadbir Rig 304 have been carried out in full compliance with HSE standards, with no incidents or unplanned shutdowns reported.
Gudarzi-Arjmand said several additional wells will be drilled as Phase 2 continues.
