TEHRAN – Managing director of Morvarid Petrochemical Complex noted that detailed engineering operations of monoethylene glycol plant of the complex in Kharg Island have progressed 4.63 percent.

Safarali Babaei told Petroenergy Information Network that design package of the plant has been delivered by the Royal-Dutch Shell Company, which owns technical know-how of the plant to Petrochemical Industries Development Management Company. He added that main contractors of monoethylene glycol plant of Morvarid Petrochemical Complex include Japan's Mitsui and Irans PIDEC and the plant is to produce 550,000 tons monoethylene glycol, 50,000 tons di-ethylene glycol and 3,000 tons tri-ethylene glycol per year. Babaei also stated that ethylene project of Morvarid Petrochemical Complex has thus far progressed 27.25 percent. The plant is being built in Kharg Island to convert associated gas produced by regional oil fields into valuable petrochemical products.
