Iran's Crude Oil Revenues at $56.3b Over Three Years

TEHRAN - Iran's exports of crude oil over the first three years of the Third Five-Year National Development Plan (2000-2005) generated 56.3 billion dollars in terms of national revenues.

`Aftab-e Yazd' DAILY wrote Saturday that the revenues had been 61 percent ahead of the target plan, and indicated an average growth rate of 9.6 percent a year. The paper added that Iran's average crude exports over the period stood at 2.1 million bpd, stressing that this had materialized 89 percent of the target plan. It stressed that Iran's oil export index over the three-year period had indicated a growth of 0.5 percent compared to the Iranian calendar year of 1378 (ending March 21, 2000). The daily further wrote that Iran's oil exports through buy-back deals stood at 88,300 bpd, stressing that this had materialized only 55 percent of the target plan. It added that this was because of a drop in foreign investment in Iran's oil sector as well as the delay in implementing the oil projects.
