According to NIOC, managing director Hamid Bovard said Sunday, during a board meeting hosted by Pars Oil and Gas Company at Phase 14 of the South Pars refinery, that the oil industry’s strategic role in Iran’s economy requires special national attention. He said expanding activity in the sector drives economic growth and adds value across the country.
Conveying the oil minister’s message of appreciation to offshore gas platform workers in the Persian Gulf, Bovard emphasized the need for a national, supportive perspective toward the oil industry. He said oversight authorities, with a deeper understanding of the importance and sensitivity of the oil sector’s tasks, should help streamline procedures and improve efficiency. “Every step that facilitates oil-industry operations directly increases economic value at the national level,” he said.
With the onset of cold weather and the need to ensure reliable energy supply, Bovard said precise planning and regular meetings chaired by the oil minister have prepared the industry to enter winter with maximum readiness.
He said optimal use of the Persian Gulf’s gas fields — especially in the South Pars region — enables maximum production and continued reliable service to the Iranian public.
Bovard also praised oil-industry employees, saying stable gas production during the cold months is the result of the dedication of skilled and committed personnel who carry out national missions under challenging operational conditions.
According to the report, NIOC’s managing director and board members arrived in Assaluyeh on Saturday night. Their meeting, aimed at reviewing the latest gas-production status, resolving operational obstacles and deciding on measures to strengthen production stability in the Pars Special Economic Energy Zone, is underway.
