Mohammad-Jafar Qaempanah told reporters on the sidelines of a cabinet meeting that any potential increase in energy carrier prices would first apply to government sectors.
“The 60- and 100-liter monthly quotas at 15,000 and 30,000 rials per liter will not change under any circumstances,” he said. “Each liter of gasoline costs the government 340,000 rials, yet we sell it to the public for 15,000 rials.”
Regarding premium gasoline, Qaempanah said the country will import super-grade fuel, which will be sold at market prices.
Asked whether Iran is expecting a difficult winter, he said, “This year will not be like last year.”
