South Pars gas output rises by 25 mcm

SHANA (Tehran) – The CEO of Pars Oil and Gas Company announced that daily gas production from the South Pars joint field has reached 718 million cubic meters, marking a 25 million cubic meter increase over the past year. He added that output is expected to rise to 30 million cubic meters per day by the end of the year.

According to POGC, Touraj Dehqani made the remarks Monday, during a meeting of public relations managers from subsidiaries of the National Iranian Oil Company, hosted by POGC. He said the new record in daily gas production from the South Pars field reflects the capability and determination of the company’s operational and administrative staff.

Dehqani noted that Iran ranks second in the world in natural gas reserves and, after the United States and Russia, is the world’s third-largest gas producer. He said the increased production capacity represents one of the country’s major economic and operational achievements, even though Iran remains the world’s fourth-largest gas consumer.

He added that the recent completion of three wells in the border areas of the South Pars field has added more than 5 million cubic meters to the nation’s daily gas production — the result of months of effort by the company’s technical teams.

Dehqani also said the number of drilling rigs operating in gas fields in the Persian Gulf has increased, with six new rigs added over the past year, bringing the total to 10 active rigs.

He emphasized that the company’s efforts during the past year have added 25 million cubic meters to South Pars’ production capacity, and with the completion of six more wells by year’s end, total capacity is expected to reach about 30 million cubic meters per day.

At the end of his remarks, Dehqani thanked the public relations departments of the National Iranian Oil Co.’s subsidiaries for their role in communicating the achievements of the country’s oil industry. He said fostering constructive engagement with the public and maintaining social trust are among the most important responsibilities of public relations, helping to effectively convey the industry’s accomplishments.
