Investigations indicate that the smoke, observed since early Saturday (June 21), originated from the combustion of remaining fuel products due to a fire in one of the damaged tanks at the Rey Oil Depot. The incident does not involve the Tehran Oil Refinery or its operations.
Shaker Khafaei, head of public relations at Tehran Oil Refining Company, told the Shana news agency that the refinery’s operations are continuing without interruption and in accordance with schedule. Production, supply, and distribution of fuel have not been disrupted. The smoke stems from the burning of residual fuel in a tank at the Rey Oil Depot, which was damaged in a recent incident. The affected tank is located outside the Tehran Oil Refinery premises.
