Subject: Condolences following the reckless attacks against the Islamic Republic of Iran

Your Excellency,

The Gas Exporting Countries Forum strongly condemns the deliberate attacks targeting the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which represent a flagrant violation of Iran’s sovereignty and security, as well as a clear breach of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the leadership and people of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and express our sincere wishes for the swift recovery of the injured and the prompt restoration of stability.

Such reckless acts of aggression threaten international peace and security and pose serious risks to global energy security. We reaffirm our solidarity with the people of the Middle East, as underscored in the Statement adopted at the 26th Ministerial Meeting held in Tehran on 8 December 2024.

Please accept, Your Excellency, the renewed assurances of my highest consideration and esteem.

Yours sincerely,
