150,000-barrels increase in oil production under 14th administration

SHANA (Tehran) – The head of oil and gas production monitoring at the National Iranian Oil Company announced a 150,000-barrels increase in oil production in 1403 (ended March 20) despite a temporary halt in output from the Abouzar field.

Farrokh Alikhani stated that if production from the field had continued at full capacity, the increase under the 14th administration would have been significantly higher.

On Friday, May 9 on the second day of the 29th International Oil, Gas, Refining & Petrochemical Exhibition (Iran Oil Show 2025) referring to the NIOC’s plans related to increasing oil production capacities, Alikhani stated that two main pillars will be followed to increase oil production the first being field actions done by the related companies such as National Iranian South Oil Company, Iranian Offshore Oil Company, Iranian Central Oil Field Company and the second being equipping and developing operational fleets such as oil rigs, coil and test well equipment .

Noting that for the first time three consecutive board meetings were held last week and the second meeting was completely dedicated to increasing the oil industry’s to increase production capacities he said decisions were made in regards to getting the most use out of the on shore and offshore rigs while reducing dependency on foreign equipment.

Firm targeting predicting production

In regards to the importance of following the 7th development plan the oil and gas supervising manager of the National Oil and Gas company of Iran stated that strict policies will be followed to execute these plans aiming to bring 95 to 97 percent of these plans about without any deviation.

Alikhani touched on the production and increasing consumption of household gas and claimed that the National Oil Company of Iran has properly met its agenda in regards to increasing gas production however due to country’s current situation a revision is required. Last year winter was prolonged for about 5.5 months and during this time 80 percent of the produced gas was dedicated to household consumption.

He emphasized that a 25 to 39 million cubic meters decrease in household gas consumption during the holidays transformed consumption management however this issue is not solely the responsibility of the NOC but also requires national dedication in regards to consumption

The four-day event runs from May 8 to May 11 at the Tehran Permanent International Fairgrounds, open to visitors daily from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
