Oil minister reports on investment conference in oil sector

SHANA (Tehran) – The oil minister presented a report at today’s Cabinet meeting on developments in investment and expansion in Iran’s upstream oil and gas sector.

The Cabinet meeting, held Wednesday under President Masoud Pezeshkian’s management, included a detailed report by Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad on an oil industry investment conference attended by domestic and foreign companies, as well as positive engagement with neighboring countries.

According to the report, the Oil Ministry has prepared $135 billion worth of projects for investors and reduced the average time for finalizing oil contracts from 39 months to five months.

During the meeting, Shina Ansari, head of the Department of the Environmental, also delivered a comprehensive report on the latest status of the Miankaleh region and renewed efforts to establish a petrochemical complex there. Following the report, the president immediately called the governor of Mazandaran Province, ordering a halt to all operations related to the Miankaleh petrochemical project. He emphasized that those who violated the supreme leader’s directives, enabling environmental damage in the region, must be held accountable and prosecuted.

Additionally, the meeting noted that 350 megawatts of solar panels suitable for installation on buildings have been imported and are ready for delivery and installation in government offices and facilities.
