Teymour Hosseini, speaking at an open session of Parliament on Tuesday, April 15, during a review of service quality and executive measures by transportation authorities for Nowruz travelers, stated: “This year’s Nowruz plan saw significant changes compared to previous years, yielding better results across all key indicators. However, fuel consumption rose by about 9%, with the historic record of 164 million liters broken on March 19.”
He added: “Intercity and intracity travel increased by 5.5% compared to last year. Due to higher traffic volume and the need for strict enforcement against violations, police had to impose stricter measures this year.”
The Traffic Police chief emphasized the need for public cooperation and private-sector investment in smart traffic services, calling on Parliament to provide necessary support in this area.
