Keramat Veis-Karami assured that fuel has been stored in depots across northern cities, and there is no cause for concern. He added that all fuel stations in these provinces are well-stocked, and fuel distribution is proceeding without interruption.
Veis-Karami advised citizens to fill their vehicle tanks before traveling to avoid purchasing gasoline at inflated prices from profiteers in case of traffic delays. He stressed that law enforcement agencies need to address such profiteering activities.
The NIOPDC CEO reassured the public not to worry about vehicle fuel, noting that the company’s staff is working around the clock to deliver fuel to stations nationwide. He also recommended that citizens use personal fuel cards to reduce refueling time and report any violations at fuel stations by calling 09627, which is operational 24/7.
Regarding reports of gasoline being sold at 30,000 tomans per liter in special containers on northern roads, Veis-Karami reiterated that the company’s mission is to ensure fuel supply and confirmed that sufficient gasoline has been stored in all oil depots.
He further disclosed that during this year’s Nowruz holidays (starting March 15), the average daily gasoline distribution was 139.5 million liters, compared to 129 million liters during the same period last year. This marks an increase of 10.5 million liters distributed during the 1403 Nowruz holidays.
