Gasoline consumption exceeds 144m liters on March 20

SHANA (Tehran) – Iran's gasoline consumption on Thursday, March 20, 2025, surpassed 144 million liters, according to data released by the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC).

The company reported that a total of 144.8 million liters of gasoline were distributed across the country on Thursday, March 20.

The data also indicated that gasoline consumption on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, reached 164.4 million liters, while the average daily consumption since the beginning of the Iranian calendar year 1403 (March 20, 2024) has been 124 million liters.

Keramat Veis-Karami, CEO of the NIOPDC, stated that with the start of the Nowruz holiday travels, the company has stored the necessary gasoline in oil depots across the country. He added that the company is fully prepared to supply fuel at over 4,500 liquid fuel, gasoline, and diesel stations, as well as 2,500 CNG stations.

Veis-Karami noted that fuel consumption is expected to rise due to increased travel during the holiday. He advised citizens to carry and use their personal fuel smart cards to avoid the need for emergency station cards.
