Fuel reserves for Nowruz in better condition than last year

SHANA (Tehran) – The deputy CEO of National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC) announced the start of a nationwide monitoring plan for fuel supply during Nowruz, the Persian New Year, alongside a simultaneous operational drill across the country's oil depots. He stated that fuel reserves for the holiday are in a better position compared to last year due to prior planning.

Ali Asghar Abbasi, speaking to reporters on Monday, on the sidelines of the launch of the Nowruz fuel supply monitoring plan and the nationwide oil depot drill, said the company has initiated the special monitoring program at fuel stations across the country.

The effort aims to improve services for Nowruz travelers and ensure the readiness of oil depots in all 37 regions under the company's management.

Abbasi noted that this annual program involves inspecting fuel supply channels and stations nationwide. The plan, carried out in collaboration with operational regions and fuel stations, seeks to create favorable conditions for travelers on both intercity and urban routes during the holiday season.

The deputy CEO emphasized that the program, which began 10 days before the end of the Iranian calendar year (March 20) and will continue through the Nowruz holidays, includes inspections of all fuel stations, particularly those along major and secondary routes. The goal is to address potential issues and ensure full preparedness to serve citizens.

Abbasi also mentioned that emergency fuel cards will be available at designated stations in provinces where fuel rationing is in effect. Necessary measures have been taken to provide these cards and resolve any potential issues, ensuring travelers can embark on their journeys without concerns.

According to Abbasi, over 4,500 fuel stations and approximately 2,600 CNG stations across the country are participating in the program. A 24/7 hotline, 09627, has been set up for citizens to report any fuel-related issues to the NIOPDC.

The official reiterated that fuel reserves for Nowruz are in a better state than last year, thanks to careful planning. He also assured that fuel supply centers at all airports are operational, and there are no issues with aviation fuel availability.
