New round of US sanctions targets Iran’s oil industry

SHANA (Tehran) – The US Departments of the Treasury and State have jointly imposed sanctions on several individuals and companies associated with Iran's oil industry, as part of Washington's ongoing maximum pressure campaign against Tehran.

This latest round of sanctions by the Treasury and State Departments against Iran's oil export sector marks the first coordinated step in a renewed maximum pressure campaign targeting Iran.

Tommy Bruce, a spokesperson for the US State Department, stated that the Treasury Department has sanctioned 16 entities and vessels, while the State and Treasury Departments have jointly sanctioned an additional 22 individuals and 13 vessels.

The US Treasury Department's official website released the detailed list of the new sanctions imposed by the administration of US President Donald Trump on Iran's oil industry, categorizing the targeted individuals and companies as follows:

List of Individuals:

- Hamid Bovard, CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company 

- Abbas Asadrouz, CEO of Iranian Oil Terminals Company 

- Gholamhossein Gerami, Head of South Pars Gas Condensate Terminal 

- Ali Miri, Head of Kharg Oil Terminal 

- Ali Moallemi, Head of North Oil Terminal Company 

List of Iranian companies:

- Iranian Oil Terminals Company 

-  Kangan Petro Refining company
